    Rules for Radicals: A Pragmatic Primer for Realistic Radicals<\/b><\/i>\u00a0is a 1971 book by community\u00a0activist<\/a>\u00a0and writer\u00a0Saul D. Alinsky<\/a>\u00a0about how to successfully run a movement for change. It was the last book that Alinsky wrote and was published shortly before his death in 1972. His goal for the\u00a0Rules for Radicals<\/i>\u00a0was to create a guide for future\u00a0community organizers<\/a>, to use in uniting\u00a0low-income<\/a>\u00a0communities, or “Have-Nots”, in order for them to gain\u00a0social<\/a>,\u00a0political<\/a>,\u00a0legal<\/a>, and\u00a0economic<\/a>\u00a0power.[1]<\/a><\/sup>\u00a0Within it, Alinsky compiled the lessons he had learned throughout his experiences of community organizing from 1939\u20131971 and targeted these lessons at the current, new generation of radicals.
