“Harris appeared on MSNBC’s “The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell” and delivered 45 seconds of pure word salad. You know, every election cycle we talk about this is the most election of our lifetime. Lawrence, this one is,” Harris said. She called 2024 “the most election.” The printed word, in fact, does not do the comment full justice. It sounded even worse than it looks.
“Somehow, she always falls short of even the lowest expectations.”

“Of course, Harris’s staggering unpopularity with voters—both she and Biden have approval ratings below 40 percent—is by no small measure of her own making. As I noted in the fall, her first year as vice president was defined by a string of brutal headlines, her office beset by dysfunction as senior and junior staffers alike quit in short succession. Her communication struggles quickly came to define her public image; even today, it is difficult to have a conversation about Harris without someone bringing up the infamous Lester Holt interview, in which she inexplicably insisted that she’d traveled to the southern border when she hadn’t.”

“Vice President Kamala Harris is “an almost complete nonentity” policy-wise, but she’s still “actively disliked by voters.” Democrats won’t replace her, but that would be “the smart political move.””

“Kamala Harris, who seems to defy the laws of political physics by existing in two categories at the same time — she’s both actively disliked by voters and an almost complete nonentity when it comes to exerting any influence on policy or politics. I mean, what has she done of n”ote as vice president? Anything at all?”

“Why Are the Language Police Obsessed With Vice Presidents?
They make countless public appearances that will be mostly ignored — unless there’s something to poke fun at.
“the vice president’s critics have not exactly fabricated, ex nihilo, the notion that she chops language into what they call ‘word salads.’”

Kamala Harris one year: Where did it go wrong for her?
“”With Kamala you have to put up with a constant amount of soul-destroying criticism and also her own lack of confidence,” the former staffer said. “So you’re constantly sort of propping up a bully, and it’s not really clear why.””

“‘Lawyerly, sharp mind’ or ‘dumb as a rock’? The ugly race to recast Harris is underway”
“Cooley insinuated that Harris had ridden the coattails of famed San Francisco politician Willie Brown, whom she’d dated in the 1990s while he was speaker of the California Assembly. “

“But another part of her life had a significant impact on her career: In 1995, she began dating Brown, then Assembly speaker and one of the most powerful men in California politics. Brown put Harris on the state Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board and the California Medical Assistance Commission, part-time posts that supplemented her prosecutor’s salary with nearly $100,000 in extra annual pay.”
